First Meeting
When you contact our office we typically will set up a meeting with you at your home or building site to gain a better understanding of your project and needs. We produce a work plan and a fee proposal which are presented in a second meeting. The proposal will outline our schedule and fee and give you an understanding of what to expect when working with us on your project. Schematic Design
During the schematic design phase, we work with our clients to develop plans for the proposed work. We begin by developing multiple interpretations of a core idea. Eventually, aspects of these plans are distilled into a final schematic that represents the physical manifestation of the client's abstract goals for the project. We believe that our thoughtful interpretation of these abstract goals is what makes us so successful in our work.Throughout this process, we work to balance creativity, aesthetics, budget and technical requirements to move toward a project that will become a reality.
Design Developement
During the design development phase, we work with our client to further develop the schematic design. The selection of a more specific scheme allows us to focus on important details such as: color palettes, stone types, tiles etc.. We discuss the heating and cooling systems, energy efficiency, structural systems and whatever technology leads to the most comfortable home environment. The design development process allows us to define and document these specifications in a way that can be communicated to the contractor.
Permitting
Our office has extensive experience with the permitting aspects of architectural projects. In addition to being well versed in the residential and commercial building codes, we also have extensive experience with other regulatory boards including conservation, planning, zoning, and historic boards all of which can have bearing on a project.
Construction Documents
During this phase, we develop a final set of drawings and a project manual which are intended to describe the project so that a contractor is able to accurately price the project and then build it according to your vision. Our office is able to help you find and select contractors and manage the construction process.

During this phase work with you and your contractor as needed to ensure a successful build.
